Any documentation or explanation for this? Ive wanted to get rid of the midnight start time for a while. We've always been told it would have to be the same person working the mid every week to keep the hours even pay period to pay period and administrative week to administrative week.Yah that Saturday thing is made up your payroll
Person is lazy
You just have to make it so the person working doesn’t flex and works the exact same minutes every week. Technically it onlyAny documentation or explanation for this? Sure, but if it’s good wx then it’s not a required time to get them. They freak out when the cig is at 4900 bkn and then race around demanding 27 reports an hour from a sector that doesn’t even own anything above 4000.Pireps of good conditions are absolutely useful.
We got rid of it this past year to make our fatigue schedule work. It didn't sound like we had to convince the district either. But yeah, there are stipulations. No flex and no shift swaps. Any substitutions have to be OT.Any documentation or explanation for this? Ive wanted to get rid of the midnight start time for a while. Okay thats what I thought. The automatic OT for leave is a non-starter, especially this year.We got rid of it this past year to make our fatigue schedule work. You might be able to argue that the efficiency gain from not having to find the numbers to stretch the day shift till midnight cancels out the efficiency loss of leave being guaranteed OT. I never crunched the numbers, but four to midnight days usually required holdover from the morning guys to work. To say nothing of the few minutes OT you spend on the frontside to make the overlap work.Okay thats what I thought. The automatic OT for leave is a non-starter, especially this year.
Unfortunately we always have made schedules that make it happen without OT except the the 15 minutes. And that OT total for the whole year is probably less than 1 full OT shift. We shouldn't be working until mid night every shift like we did this year atleast. That shit suuuuuuuckkkkked. You might be able to argue that the efficiency gain from not having to find the numbers to stretch the day shift till midnight cancels out the efficiency loss of leave being guaranteed OT. Government shutdown impasse stretches on as Senate Republicans reject Democrats' health care offer

Omfg I posted in wrong thread lmaoIs trump even gonna sign? Remember last shutdown when he just vetoed the agreement randomly
How are people so dangerously incompetent allowed to remain in these critically important positions. Reminds me of what the Germans said about the British in ww1, the lions led by the lambs.
Or in this case, some of the best controllers led by people who don’t know what a pirep is.
That is exactly the problem with management. If Duffey wanted to fix ATC he would fire everyone in DC, every GM, and give every ATM and FLM a real hard grilling about why they should be allowed to keep their job. Take facility feedback. If your subordinates have no confidence in you, you need to go. The issue is that the top 3 or 4 layers of faa management are all from that toxic school of thought.Because they’ll do exactly what the higher ups tell them to do without pushback or thought.

Look how badly the faa did at the dca hearings. They should have been taken out in cuffs for lying to Congress. The fuckers did everything they could to obfuscate their role in the tragedy.
The incestous management culture that prioritizes how things look versus how they actually are needs to die. Making your boss happy at any cost so you can get a raise needs to die. The bottom 10% going into management needs to die. For every 1 good manager I’ve found, there’s been 6-7 shitheads
Acting positions is the agencies biggest flaw. No one is in a management position long enough to see a project to completion. No one wants to take a risk or rock the boat trying something that may fail because it could mess up their next 12 month temp they wantAnd how many of the ATM’s out there are there temporarily? In my 11 years I think I’ve worked under 1 permanent atm and they got fired for some shady shit

Isn't ZDV at impasse still?Anyone at impasse? We ate a shit sandwich for our BWS to avoid impasse since our RVP was obviously going to be unhelpful. Wondering if any higher up battles are actually going OK since NATCA nationally just rolled the fuck over on this one. Shouout to the ATMs that were willing to ignore dumbfuck district management though.
