Hardship for Medical

We have two together and there’s a center 15 mins from our house, I’m hoping they’ll be cool and let me go there but I’m also military so I’m use to the government telling me to get fucked and deal with it.

The hardship is for children that have moved away. If you took a job some else and they didn't move they won't let you hardship back home. Your spouse needs to get orders somewhere else then you can apply.

They must really hate you, I’m use to seeing the military and government bowing done and and doing whatever people claiming whatever hardship typically want.

Hi,

This might be on an old thread but I’m hoping someone has some insight. I believe I have a valid hardship but Ive heard from some coworkers that I need a drs note explicitly stating that my family is the primary caretaker of my father in law. Is this correct? Currently we have a letter stating my father in law’s diagnosis and that the doctor is requesting we be accommodated by our employers. Has anyone gone through this process? And if so, will our personal statement suffice in saying we are the primary caretaker?

Not sure what the final answer will be but I would start to get more documentation then just a personal statement. Lots of people have milked this type of hardship request in the past so the agency is thankfully cracking down.

In your opinion what is supporting documentation besides a doctors note? I’m not trying to milk the system just trying to get closer to a family member in need.

I’m not sure what you will need, every region has a NATCA person who helps specialize, administer and track the process so they will let you know, but yeah, I would start by getting the Doctor’s note and then see what else if anything is requested.

Ive heard things they are looking for folks in your situation are if you have siblings you'd have to prove that they cannot take care of the parent. I've even heard of some cases where they denied the hardship because said parent had insurance that would pay for either home care or a nursing home.

Has anyone run into a physician refusing to provide a doctors note because they don’t want to be involved in the process? They instead provide tons of sufficient medical evidence but basically say they don’t want to deal with headache of being questioned. I don’t see a requirement for a specific doctors note in A99 just for medical evidence but apparently it’s become some kind of unwritten standard now.

In my situation I’ve provided my parent’s MRI’s, medication lists, stuff from Medicare, a statement from her, etc but apparently it’s a tough decision because of the doctors note thing.

To anyone who’s gotten their hardship approved, how long after you heard through the Natca/management grape vine did you wait till you got your TOL?
