Makes sense. Didn't think it could be that simpleAlternate means if you don’t like any of the facilities on the list, you can always choose ZSU

FList is 4 NY’s, 2 Chicago, 1 Indy and 1 Houston.
San Juan are alternates
This past one was the coldest in 30 years thanks to a polar vortex.. It was cold from November till around March, then April and May were rain all the time, since then it’s been decently nice. Kinda humid but around mid 80s. It had its sucky days in the winter, but they plow and salt the roads very well. Nothing a hefty coat and ice scraper can’t handle!Realistically how terrible is the winter? I had a friend from there and he said winter was like 9 months, then summer. No real spring or fall 😳
What does alternate mean? And did y'all only have 8 in the class? And did they mention anything about New York asking for 4 slots, like the training is caught up or anything?
Ahh ok. Well that makes total sense to shove 4 slots into a list for them to come and sit and provide towards the backlog.Im not in that class. I’m already in NY and absolutely not, it has not caught up. Nor will it anytime soon.
Well at least one person will be happy. Gonna be a fight to finish first and pick Houston.
If it’s last on their list is might drop offWell at least one person will be happy. Gonna be a fight to finish first and pick Houston.
If you went there I assume you would be subject to the same transfer requirements as everybody else in the FAA.Just out of curiosity, if you decide to pick San Juan, are you basically stuck there or is it a temp position since its out of the mainland?
It’s the FAA. It’s better to have a job than none at all.Ahh ok. Well that makes total sense to shove 4 slots into a list for them to come and sit and provide towards the backlog.

If life was just that simple. I would never live there unless you like to have bars on your windowsi'll take San Juan. oh no, i'm stuck on a tropical island.....close to other tropical islands....
This. It is a permanent assignment just like any other facility.
I grew up in Miami. Bars on windows is a stylistic choice ???If life was just that simple. I would never live there unless you like to have bars on your windows
Thats what I figured. Based on your flair, I take it you work there? I know everyone has opinions about everywhere, but what do you think about working in San Juan?
At least the 4 of them can be roommates8/8 today? Nice job.
I laugh at this, but also dread that being a situation I would have possibly happening to my class. At least the 4 of them can be roommates
