Do p65 mods respond to investigations by Faa HR?They won’t find out unless you tell someone and they dime you out to the FAA. Or you post it on the internet.
Do p65 mods respond to investigations by Faa HR?
Again, you guys need to read FAA Order 3750.7B...you can have a second job...
The .65 is gonna kill some of y'all...
So I’m still not getting a clear answer from reading this thread.
Here’s my dilemma:
I received my FOL and have a mid-September start date. I’m currently employed by another Federal Agency, but with all the delays in beginning basics and reading what I’ve read here, I’m hesitant to put my notice in at this time.
This new career path takes priority for me and will be ready to go at any time, I’m just wondering if the FAA, DOT, or anyone else could see I’m currently/still employed by another federal entity (active Form50)?
My HR rep is impossible to get a hold of, but it also is sounding like I shouldn’t mention it.
Lol at shouldn't mention it. You're employed by the government already, do you really think thats a good idea?

And that's why all this shit is a scam. They did have us all come in and recert. Most likely were going to have to again. Which defeats the purpose of staying out of the building to social distance lol. If we can come back and recert, we should be able to come back and train.
Little word of advice on this...my facility is a 2ish year average, and has a list of all trainees and their position cert dates on the wall. My buddy was using other people’s certs as a timeline for when he could expect his. We had a calendar on our white board that showed every date projection for tests, labs, etc. This scenario is why I have been stacking up all of my chips in preparation, having AG pay, in another state w/ four children/ wife/ animals/ etc. Hopefully, not banking on, but having Z: OB/ JX/ TL as the home base and # 1 & 2 having cpc in avg. time of 1.93 yrs. So thinking that 1 & 2 having, fingers crossed, 2 yrs for cpc then having D1 maybe in 6 months +/- and so fourth. Just looking ahead with the mindset of, hope for the best and plan for the worst as best I can.
Nah the dude has a point. HR people that work at the MMAC are borderline retarded.Lol at shouldn't mention it. You're employed by the government already, do you really think thats a good idea?
Does this start when basics begins, or the start of 3-4 month “academy?” And any of the time in between (with all of these lulls I’m hearing about)?I believe your current pay will transfer over when you start at the academy, so you won't be stuck earning $12/hr like everyone else.

Also, my FOL with the salary rate says otherwise.
They should know about it. All “current federal civilian employees” had to send them it with our TOLs. It says “to ensure you receive credit for all previous federal civilian time” but nothing about rates of pay.My guess is that HR won't know about it until you tell them, and you'll likely have to send them an SF-50 showing your current rate in order to have it carry over. I think it would be effective as soon as you swear in, so when you start online basics. But I don't have any direct experience so you might want to have "a friend" call HR and ask first...

He had a family emergency come up that led to unexpected medical bills, but he also financed a new car. He bought a house on 0% down, 30 year mortgage, because it was cheaper than renting in his current apartment. If we aren’t back into the labs by December, he’s talking about having to quit. He works a second job, but his wife is unable to work right now, and they have a baby. He spent money he doesn’t have based on what his crystal ball told him, and it bit him. Hard. Don’t predicate your future upon your top 3 facilities being available, you passing the academy with a good enough score to select your preferred facility, and certifying in a certain time frame based on what others have certified at. You could get stuck in San Juan because it is on the required list. You just never know.
If you have time to work a second job during academy, more power to you. Might be better off having your wife work while you study & watch the kids.
Quite possible it was lost in the shuffle. AFAIK current fed civilian employees pay transfers over even for your academy time. I would reach out to your HR rep with an email and a copy of the SF50 because your FOL should have the correct number on it.They should know about it. All “current federal civilian employees” had to send them it with our TOLs. It says “to ensure you receive credit for all previous federal civilian time” but nothing about rates of pay.
