2024 NATCA President Election

Remember when they were selling $70 sweatpants and when they were selling a shirt commemorating the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote and on the website you order them at, there was a counter displayed (I'm sure by mistake) how many were ordered of every product, and the count for that shirt about a week after it was on sale was at one (1)?

But more importantly, I think this is one of the darkest days in our careers. Do you think the RAZEWEN movement died today? If they are really not going to renegotiate util 2026 I would say it's fucking dead. ABACUS is not going to find hidden traffic not being counted now and lead to upgrades except for one or two centers, but it's going to expose and eliminate the few remaining ways facilities are overcounting traffic and lead to more downgrades. I won't even comment on the commercial space and "half the people on this call will have a 185K four-person drone" bullshit.

People in low level facilities are not going to wait around to 2026 just to get fucked again. I guarantee anyone in a situation like that who has been paying attention to this and saw that video today is getting their resume together. Resignations will be up, and it will cause them to put an emergency freeze of transfers (which will then drive resignations higher lol).
History repeats itself. The first step that led to the uprising for our PATCO brothers and sisters was their attempt to re-classify facility levels. It backfired resulting in ZERO upgrades and only downgrades. This fueled the anger of the union and was the first step that led to the decision to strike.

Are you kidding, I’d advocate to the agency if I won that we are too short to support article 114 out of the facilities full time! Maybe when we get the staffing to be able to transfer and not work people who don’t want to 6 days a week we can take a look at it.

It’s not like any of those people (full time 114ers) would ever vote for a non NATCA deep stater like me anyway, so let’s get that out of the way right now!
I don’t know why I’ve never thought of it this way. It is hypocritical pounding the table about the staffing crisis while having 114s every where not helping with staffing.

No kidding. This last year we had people on 4 10's working 16-20 hours of OT a week. Everyone else had 1 day of OT and occasionally hold over/call in every single week & there were still days this summer where we only had 7 people in the building to staff 6 positions.

There's only 1 person at my facility on a full time detail. No one is happy that they count against our staffing number but yet NATCA defends them but claims they're working hard to increase our staffing number. A114's should be strictly temporary & if someone can no longer work traffic, they shouldn't be earning good time.

Holy smokes, I forgot about the good time part. That’s crazy.

They are working hard to increase your staffing number. But don’t tell 32 cuz his one little corner of the NAS is fat so it must be like that everywhere.
Also if you didn’t get good time it would defeat the purpose because no one would do it. And what kind of union would advocate for less benefits?

Staff support positions get filled every day.

Can't tell if you're joking or not.

Which ones exactly are working hard to increase staffing numbers? What exactly are they doing that's much more important than staffing the operation? Not sure if you did those most recent recurrent training elms yet, but I'm assuming (I could be wrong, but who else would they be) that the numerous people who appeared in NATCA shirts are probably the ones working from home on their A114 full-time detail. Gee, their job must be sooo important to the safety of the NAS. Thank God we have them 🙄

One of our CPCs went down to DC months ago to speak with members of congress for better staffing & voice support for the CRWG. He had the 3rd highest OT hours in the building at over 600. You don't need a full-time detail to work hard for better staffing.

Well they suck then because staffing numbers have only gotten worse in my 16+ years in. They haven’t done 1 single thing that improved staffing numbers.

I get what you are saying but the example you've given is where people don't get enough credit. All legislative activity is done on the member's time because of the Hatch Act. It's such a thankless grind but probably the most important thing the union can do.

Would you count lobbying for the legislation that allowed for prior experience hires and raising their entry age to 35? Or do you think some random dickhead Congressmen thought of that by his self.

Exactly this. The article 114 hours can be spread out more let more people get involved and have real working controllers representing us form time to time

I just mean the union. Via crwg and lobbying.

The agency hires and congress pays. Couldn’t think of 2 more disfunctional collection of botards to be forced to rely on.

They made a spreadsheet
And got congressmen to put that spreadsheet into an actual bill in the actual congress to become actual law. That’s how fucked up your stupid agency is. They won’t fix staffing unless it’s made into a law.
Everyone around here wants pilot raises. You applied to the wrong company.

Remind me again why you're against "privatizing" into a non-profit user funded ANSP that isn't run by a bunch of dysfunctional dipshits in DC?

Because they’ll take our pensions

I don’t know what this means. They haven’t hired enough controllers to even keep up with attrition. How do you still not know anything?
