Funny how that works. Also notice how all of the claimed harmed centers are in the same regions as the supposed "bad RVPs"?

I believe Santa and Mick are straight up lying. If they are, they need removed immediately.
Orrrrr the story is true and Santa and Mick pulled the trump card. Either way it is disgusting the NEB turned it down without even voting on it and its embarrassing how political our union has become. We just want better pay and benefits, it is ridiculous.

Also, “solidarity”.

There would be more solidarity if there was something to get behind.

This is what they need to do, something that will increase pay 10% by July. I'll even count the 1.6% in June toward that so he only needs to get 8.4%. A currency or retention bonus is my second favorite idea next to getting a 20% premium for every minute you are plugged in and working a position.

I think that is the best idea the FAA might buy off on as it would increase time on position and in theory decrease sick calls a bit. Plus it rewards the actual controllers not all the fucks on details.
This "time on position" premium idea needs to die here and now. Sure it sounds like a bonus to you but it's a hidden long term fix to staffing for the FAA. Why hire more people or even pay out overtime when some guys will just rot on position for only 20% more.

We don’t assign what positions should be open. But someone else said currency bonus so I get behind that instead. Or I’ll take both.

I 100% do not believe anything happened the way cat man and dick head are claiming.

But, let's say there was a motion to form a work group to give these centers an upgrade, which the FAA had already said they would sign off on.
(Let's think about that for a moment actually. We are out of money for this program, but here are massive raises for 1000+ people. Shit, when has the FAA EVER offered more money out of the goodness of their hearts. This part of the story isn't believe on its own!)
Anyways, here is the FAA standing there with a bag full of cash to give away with no strings attached. These 3 RVPs stand up, and say we wouldn't vote for that if you bring it to a vote. Then not a single other RVP, nor Rich say fuck that, we are voting. Put it on the record these 3 are screwing people over? Then you don't say anything about it for 18 months?? If that actually happened, which there is no fucking way it did, EVERY SINGLE NEB member and Rich are just as guilty as those 3 RVPs.

Everyone wants new NATCA leadership to negotiate for higher pay due to inflation and what we perceive as wins in new contracts for UPS and GM. I urge caution. Just six months ago, UPS workers received a substantial pay increase, and today UPS announced it would be laying off 12,000 workers…12,000! This is what could happen to us if we get greedy. We are all making a good living. Let’s not be blinded by short term gains that will ultimately have a negative effect on safety. Our national debt will skyrocket, controllers may be furloughed or forced to retire, and staffing will get even worse. Let’s not end up like the greedy pigs at UPS and GM.

Learn to read. 0 truck drivers got laid off

He noted the reduction is less than 3% of the UPS workforce and does not impact union-represented roles.

Ralph Capone. May be the biggest idiot of all.

It’s not even close

What it boils down to is whatever way it played out or if it's complete fabrication is that we're fucked six ways to Sunday.
I think that's what has me pissed off. If Rich and Mick are lying, someone needs to take them to the parking lot. If Nick and the other RVPs blocked it, they need to go back to the boards, preferably at the lowest paying center.

What’s most confusing to me is the options were say no or create a CWG. What was the CWG going to do lol? Apparently the FAA already agreed to the raise. So it is weird, plus a lot of people forget that Jamal is not on the NEB, so it would have had to be presumably Daniels and at least two others who said they would not vote yes.

Dear ZDV NATCA Local,

I hope this message finds you well. I understand that there has been some confusion and misinformation circulating regarding discussions about the possibility of upgrading five ARTCCs, including Denver Center. Frankly, the truth has been bent and distorted for political gains and it's important to address this matter quickly and transparently to ensure accurate information reaches all members.

Contrary to recent statements, there was never a concrete plan to upgrade five centers outside of the Appendix A of the Slate Book and a validated traffic count program such as ABACUS. An idea was initially mentioned by Rich Santa in October 2022 at the Center FacRep meeting in Boulder, CO, before any discussion with the NEB. The NEB later discussed the concept at a meeting in San Antonio in October 2022, raising questions about the process and feasibility. However, no evidence of a real option was presented, and the matter was dropped without any formal vote or decision.

During a Center Rep call in December 2023, this "option" resurfaced and was inaccurately framed as a possibility that was blocked by the NEB. To clarify, the NEB never voted on this matter; rather, discussions centered around the feasibility and process of such an initiative. The subsequent narrative blaming the NEB for blocking a nonexistent plan is inaccurate.

In our recent NEB meeting, it was emphasized that Rich's idea was never a real possibility but rather an exploration of forming a group to investigate the potential for an upgrade. This clarification aims to dispel any confusion and address the misleading information that has been circulating.

I want to emphasize that your FacRep, is a dedicated and caring representative. Any frustration or anger directed towards her is misplaced. The NEB is committed to informing the membership accurately and responsibly, and in this instance, that did not occur. I understand the affect this misinformation may have had, and I want to assure you that our commitment remains focused on fair and immediate compensation for all our members.

It's unfortunate that we need to clarify this situation, but it's crucial for the unity and solidarity of our union. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

To the parking lot with Rich and Mick.

So Alex is saying this was brought up and RVPs didn’t just say let’s fucking get these people money. They wanted to know about the feasibility of it? Who cares, there was no downside. Politic this all you want it’s sad that this wasn’t pounced on by the union.
