This is misguided. There’s no problem negotiating with republicans. No one’s ever made that claim. It’s the Trump EOs specifically that are designed to destroy labor.
I don’t even know what to say to the part about losing everything. Some of the people on this board are oblivious. The case for a new CBA is that as of 3 years ago A108 has frozen our pay rate/progression at a rate that is grossly unacceptable. The case for a new CBA is absolutely not “who cares if we lose everything”. You’re clearly junior and have taken for granted what we have. And yes I want a new CBA as well

More like 6-8 weeks in a lot of circumstances. Most teachers also work 60+ hours a week and have to pay for classroom supplies with their own money. Not counting any other extracurriculars like coaching, band directing, or leading school groups.

Look it up yourself. The US economy is well ahead of the other major countries (especially Europe) in the recovery since COVID. It’s widely documented and easy to find but Republicans don’t care as it doesn’t fit their narrative. Also explains why every month when the economic and job numbers come out with growth or higher than expected numbers, the Republicans don’t say anything at all. Democrats do the same with a Republican in office and the numbers are good.

I hope you didn’t put money on your bet. I’ve said numerous times here that it’s time for the contract to be renegotiated.

They definitely are underpaid and under appreciated, but talking about a profession that gets three months off for summer break, and another month off for Spring Break, fall break, and Christmas break combined while dogging controllers for recuperative breaks is a terrible argument.

unless you’re getting smoked at a vfr tower or dealing with thunderstorms (or apparently working at dca) this job is a joke where you spend sometimes half your shift on break. The schedule blows no denying that though. I also understand the 4-7s could use a bump. But if you’re at a core 30 or center complaining I don’t know what to tell you.
