Our guy, #1 seniority, fuckin Bible thumping douchebag apparently has always been like this but I never seen it first hand until 3 months ago.
Guy requested this past week off, A/L, mgmt denied his request due to us being understaffed. He calls in says he was "exposed" and that he will not be coming in.
Honestly I hope he gets it and winds up in the hospital.

Not defending scammers but my first trainer at my first FAA facility imparted some decent advice to me, “This place was here before you were born and will be here after you die, no one will look out for you but you.”

The FAA said it established a Covid-19 air transport team in October "to ensure safe, expeditious, and efficient transportation of vaccines."
Pretty creative with that mission statement at the end there.

Agreed. Because more often than not you've left your coworkers to pick up your slack. Call in overtime can be hard to get someone to answer the phone so now the shift is working short, therefore getting shorter breaks and working harder.
I get it from time to time. But no one is going to care if it’s a day here a day there. But it’s the consistent abusers, the ones who make no effort at all, or to ensure a replacement even if they know someone will pick up the OT, it’s the blatant disregard for your co workers.
It’s those people I’m talking about. Of course the world keeps turning but you can at least take care of it while you are there.

I had a piece of similar advice when I first joined the service, "you gotta fuck this place harder then its going to fuck you" . I went on to get a CTO, a BS degree on the goverment dime and did a ton of international travel via space-a. The goverments going to get theirs, make sure you get yours.

Lack of integrity to scam and bang out when you don’t get the days you want and don’t give a fuck about the people whom you work next to. If the facility goes ATC zero like it happens at small facilities just so someone can go take a shit, you don’t think that looks bad and lacks integrity just so you can go drink a few ipas?
