CPC reinstatements

You get picked up, you can be gone within the next PP.
Good to know but I was wondering about the other direction. If you can get a non-2152 position in the FAA (within the ATO or outside it), is there an easy way to go back to a 2152 position later? Or do you have to wait for a prior experience bid and accept whatever list they offer you?

There was that OKC instructor/evaluator position people were talking about recently but it sounded like that had special return rights baked into the announcement.

I'm guessing anything within the ATO you would need to follow NCEPT rules. For example if you bid on a staff support specialist job or a supe job, your facility needs to have staffing to let you go. There's waivers for everything though. The DO can make that call. Jobs outside the ATO, the ATO has no say when you can leave. To come back from a non ATO position I'm guessing it would be a reinstatement or direct hire not a ERR

Above is correct, but I was denied going to a facility at the district level due to the amount of err inbounds. They wouldn’t have been anywhere near 100% and it was still denied. The district offered a couple other facilities, but I ended up at different facility where I put in a reinstatement.

Did they ever say why it was denied if that still put them under 100%? Some places like ATL for example would have 38 /37 controllers after trainees and inbounds certify but the "projected to target" is 85%... So confusing.

The HR person I dealt with just told me that the district denied it due to 7 err inbounds or something like that.

I submitted a month before an ncept panel, and both ATMs waited to push my paperwork until the day after selections.

How long from you submitting your paperwork to you walking through the door? Also could you have told the region that you're in no rush, you'll just stay at your DOD job till another slot opens up at the facility you wanted to be reinstated at?

I submitted May 2020 and walked in the door March 2021. I wasn’t ready to sit around and wait. I submitted to two facilities and luckily got one of them. After the first one was denied HR said I could wait before picking what the first district offered me.

I could have stayed at my dod facility.

If you’ve been separated from the agency or in another agency job for less than two years you will not have to complete the MMPI again. Per HR specialist I dealt with on the ‘21 experienced bid.
Do you have that HR specialists contact info? Looking for the order that says that.

Ok, so I have read many different posts. Anyone that succeed at being reinstated. Did you have to retake the MMPI? Because I know applying for prior experience I’m being told the test expires after two years. Not two years out of the agency. If you have contrary info documentation is much appreciated.

Out of the faa for 3 years. Reinstated. Retook mmpi. The test expires after 2 years so it’s basically impossible to not have to take it if you leave and come back.

Expires after two years. Doesn’t matter if you leave agency or not. Didn’t retake. Stayed in my current job.

Question regarding age limits to Reinstate:

Are there any age requirements tied to Reinstatements of FAA Controllers after one year or more of separation? Specifically, do you need to be younger than 36 years old.

No.
Once the clock starts on your age, they must let you get your 20 good time if you come back.
But if you’ll be past 56, you won’t be allowed to work past the 20.
Example:
Hire at 30, work 5 years. Quit for 10. Rehire at 45 with 5 years good time. You’d be allowed to work to 60 but not past.

Is there anybody currently going through the reinstatement process? I am coming up on my year separation soon and would very interested in hearing about how bad the delays are for getting clearances accomplished, or if people are being denied to the facilities where an ATM agreed to hire you. Recently applied for the previous experience bid but was not selected from the referral list; which I thought was interesting being that I have over 10 years of experience at a Lvl 10 facility with no disciplinary issues.

I'm not in the process but I have heard of a couple in of people that were denied the facility they were applying to. The region did say they could receive a list of available facilities.

You were not selected because you have not been separated from the FAA for more than 12 months. Found this out a while ago too.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that I cannot submit my application for reinstatement until waiting the full 12 months, but I do not know of any such stipulation for the Previous Experience bids. There have been a couple of people who have posted on this thread having (successfully) bid the previous experience announcement prior to being out 12 months to get a jump start on their clearances. Do you know where to find this info?

Not listed anywhere publicly that I can find. But GulfCharlie speaks truth

Internal ATO Policy. They are doing everything they can to dissuade people from leaving black hole facilities to shore up staffing numbers nation wide. IMHO it should have been mentioned in the announcement but I won’t fight that battle.
