You'll have to go see a specialist now and pay out of pocket for it. It will delay your process obviously but idk about the extent to being disqualified or not. Only the flight surgeon can tell you that.

Only experience I have is i knew someone that blew their acl a few years back. FAA wanted detailed records, plus reevaluation on knee strength/range etc. Said it was fairly difficult to get people to respond, including doc. But short answer was delayed him a ‘few months’. Not bad

yup just went through it. I have no insurance cost me $700 for the additional tests and they give u 30 days from when u receive the letter to fax or email your results. took me a week to find a cardiologists another week to take all the tests and I finally got my signed results last week and faxed it to them. barely a week to spare so I wouldn't sleep on it. in my email it said if they don't get that information you'll be removed from the hiring process

What other tests were you required to do? and how long after did you receive the email with the instructions? asking so I can start searching for a doctor.

The part where they talk about 30 days is probably copy pasted in the emails so people don't take their sweet time. I had to get an eye exam with documentation to go along with it, but the eye doctor's office i usually go to was booked out until a little after the 1 month mark and I emailed the medical POC back with the appointment date I got and he said it was totally fine. I'm still here and not kicked out ?

Will they really put me in tier-2 for the mmpi if I answered too "good" I guess? I answered honestly and consistent, finished in less than an hour. Sorry I'm not a suicidal drunk mother hater, who thinks people are out to get me. Would suck to be tier-2 after all this waiting.

Yes. If you're deemed as trying to beat the test by answering what they want to hear they will. Sou do like you did it correctly - honestly, consistent, and quickly.

The FAA wants people to be some type of crazy, that's why they Tier 2 all the innocent people like myself. All jokes aside, just don't say you like torturing animals or abusing drugs and you'll be fine with all the other questions.

Yeah I def don't do any of that. What an awful way to evaluate people. I don't understand why we just don't take it with a psychiatrist.

Because the FAA isnt going to pay for every single applicant to meet with a psychiatrist. Just take the test. By a wide margin the majority of people pass without issue.

My take away from your comment is you finished in under an hour! I took almost three hours for my mmpi. Granted I was talking to people that worked there while taking my test felt very casual as opposed to what I was expecting. How was everyone else's experience?

I already took the test. Just seems crazy to me that normal people could be put in tier 2 just because it seems they're trying to"game" it. If your going to have to see a shrink in tier 2, why not just have everyone see one when they take it first.

I finished in 45 minutes and passed just fine. Thought it was a piece of cake.

I'm from 2019 OTS, but yeah same thing. I found out I flagged for being "defensive" aka too agreeable. The system felt that I was answering questions in a way that was like, "Yes, hire me, I'm a perfect person who never has any faults". Once I had my eval, the doc was like oh you're really just a happy-go-lucky, go-with-the-flow kind of person. I was like umm yeah, I hate confrontation, and I'd rather keep the peace at work and home. But, I always do terribly on personality assessments for the same reason so I really wasn't surprised.

SO...if you haven't taken the MMPI yet, don't be so nice lol
This has me nervous, Everytime I've ever taken a test like this I'm always answering honestly but get low validity scores. I also heavily dislike confrontation and have an easy time getting along with everyone. I'm am generally happy and not depressed / anxious, had a great childhood, like to keep things as chill as possible with no drama.

Oh wow. I hope I'm not the only one that took long haha. It was probably closer to 2 and a half hours but still not close to under an hour. I would say only a few questions actually held me up, that made me really think about my response. Mostly the employees talking to me is what slowed me down. Had a nice chat with them about what they were working on.

For what it's worth since were on the topic: MMPI took me about 70-75 minutes, and I passed. Most questions took me a second or less to answer, with perhaps 50-60 questions making me re read or think about what they were asking.
