Thats one way to spin it in the most favorable possible light. Another would be... actively encouraged the Union (as a top ranking union official) to create a hostile work environment and poison the workplace against 16 people. All this wrapped around weasel words. Also is a clear shot across the bow for anyone else who would dare quit that there will be revenge taken. && the standard is what a reasonable person would perceive, not bootlickers from Southie

LOL...this is pathetic. Being/not being in a Union does nothing toward making the workplace better. I'm a stronger controller with a MUCH stronger leave balance (because I show up for work) then Union members - at my facility.

AND, FYI, one reason I left the Union is because the "benefits" have dwindled to the point where most of the time you seek support, the response is "there's nothing we can do". See my reply #195.

AND AND I've found a majority of those "benefits" really only benefit the lazy delinquents who are the real burden to the facility.

Well I have a 10 year old GMC Sierra that I bought for 30K. That probably = old and dusty cock. Maybe with this new June 1.6 + January 4.6 I’ll blow my wife’s mind with a brand new electric GMC Hummer with a 6 inch lift.

Literally no, it is not. The whole point of a “favor” is that you’re doing something extra for someone. Not doing something extra is not a reprisal.

Not original poster, but you can absolutely think (ideally) the government (as an extension of the American populace) should do things in the interest of it's constituency, and at the same time recognize that same government, (as an employer) may not always do things in the interest of an individual, along with middle and lower management issues being far removed from the FAA being a gov entity in regards to the gov's responsibility to it's people.

That said, this newsletter was hot garbage, I'll associate with who I want, and maybe instead of being vindictive, we as a union should ask why so many people are leaving, and why a great many more are so apathetic on union issues in general... I'm willing to bet, as previously mentioned we would have lost a great many more if people weren't worried about being blackballed on ncept.

I'm about as pro union as they come, but some of the decisions natca has made the last few years don't exactly line up with my vision of what looking out for your membership looks like.

A reprisal, as I quoted, is literally an act of retaliation for an action. Someone is telling people to not do something in retaliation for the action of quitting the union. So yes, it literally is.

Prior to the FAA I was able to be part of the 4th generation of UAW members in my family. I had a great grandfather get his head busted open (allegedly) at the "Battle of the Overpass" in 1937. And in the opinion of my grandfather, "if you can't strike, you ain't a real union." UAW corruption aside, I at least had a sense of historical pride of those that came before me being willing to go on strike and take a beating for what was right.

NATCA is like a watered down Police union: they can try to grease palms here and there and some might have their own non-sanctioned singularity events of protest (sick-outs and the like). But if you can't form a picket line, you ain't much more than a circle jerk.

I don't know how much longer they'll get dues out of me: my hand is getting tired and they aren't providing much lotion these days.
