UAW was on strike for 6 weeks.. UAW has approximately 400,000 members. I'm curious how much your life changed over those 6 weeks the 400K UAW members were on strike and got a 25% raise for the HIGHEST paid workers and 160% for the LOWEST paid workers. Could you not find parts for your vehicle to repair it? Did you go to a dealership and unable to purchase a vehicle? What exactly changed for you?

If 12,500 (All of ATC) Air Traffic Controllers were gone for 6 weeks.. lets say from now to the New Year. How much of an immediate impact would that have on the average American's life compared to 400K UAW members?

That is why they had you sign a no strike statement or you are fired.
If 12k controllers went on strike there’s no way in hell they would fire them. Staffing is dogshit and they’re already 10 years behind the curve. It would be an economic catastrophe. Let’s put the picket line president in a position to fire us and upset his voter base. This union has never been in a stronger position to bargain and the can keeps getting kicked.

would need massive amounts of solidarity, we're too divided and weak now, too many Bootslickers in our ranks..

You wanna test that hypothetical under a republican president?

legit question. President Fires 100% of ATC... how does the NAS function for the next week let alone the next 10 years?
Same way it functioned when Reagan fired more than 11,000 controllers. Fucked in the short-term and still broke and fucked up like Baltimore's school district. None of the current politicians have the foresight for long-term decision making, what makes you think they consider about long-term implications?

Here's the thing, we have no basis to strike since the union agreed to extend the current contract. We can all cry wolf but management can literally say "no-take backsies".

A wildcat strike is a strike action undertaken by unionised workers without union leadership's authorisation, support, or approval; this is sometimes termed an unofficial industrial action. The legality of wildcat strikes varies between countries and over time.
