I’m in one of the classes that had to start over. We made it originally to ERAM 3, so not too far in. We do get to keep our scores, and we are not allowed to retake any of the tests. We still have to run all the non-radar problems, but we aren’t taking the non-radar evals again.

That's rough, when you get to a facility stuff like that would never fly but in the Academy as a new hire you are not in the union and still under probations so it's a tough spot.

Yeah it is what it is at this point. Silver lining, I guess, is that I’ll be less than a month away from the end of my probation period by the time I finally graduate.

I think the FAA making us restart is just a result of it being the path of least resistance for them. They don’t have to do any additional planning, just have us go through the existing program as is, but without doing any of the tests.

Sorry I am a bit new to all this, but what is so bad about ZNY? Is it because it is a lvl 12 right off the bat or because it sucks to live on LI? Or maybe a combination of the above?

Straight off to bat it would suck to live on Long Island, and the pass rate and training times are absolutely atrocious. I don’t work there but I’ve also heard the work environment isn’t that great.

Most Z’s having a training success rate of 70-80%. ZNY is at 32%. There have been rumors for years of people being intentionally washed out for a variety of BS reasons. Not to mention cost of living in NY is insane.
