Terminal Class pass rate

Stop washing 30% at a level 6 tower and they will.
Idk why it’s at 30% we have only had one guy hardship that didn’t finish training but we haven’t had one wash since 2017 and thst dude quit to go work in SaltLake or something.

So you’re better than people at a level 6? I love how you throw in there “at a level 6” lol I love my level 6 we close everyday at 2100 and many times we as a tower go have a beer at our local bars. I’ve done the 24/7 before and it can be challenging. Seriously, working at a country club has its perks.

I can picture everyone in that class fighting tooth and nail over who gets to go to PAO after that solid review and idea of a future coworker.
Yeah you’re right. Somebody that will fight for them….. No offense I’ve come off a little rough I get it.

It is expensive 100% can’t avoid that lol. But live 30min away and you can find very affordable living. Most the folks here at PAO are in that 20-30min range. Also traffic can be nuts like most city areas.
I also work in the Bay Area, I can’t even imagine what is cheaper around PAO. There’s people who work in Tracy, and Modesto where I’m at. Lol.

PAO has never been a country club lol.

Lol well SFO, PAO, SJC, RHV, OAK and ZOA are the Bay Area towers. And somehow SCK is too. Fk that traffic though from Tracy to the Bay Area and back.

7/15 List:
PIA
PIA
BFL
BFL
PAO
SPI
APC
LAF
MKG
OMA
DPA

Alt: FAI
Hot take but PIA might be the best choice in that list. With their 804 going thru soon and looking at the numbers, it's got to be some kind of glitch making their projected numbers so bad. Currently 21/22 aob and 5 trainees, 1 outbound and they are projected 69%? Can't be right. I think for a 24 hour level 4 tower that they are about to become, they're probably looking at a staffing number similar to DAY at 15. TL;DR once their target gets adjusted they, they're going to have hella cat 1 releases.

Outside of that speculation, if I'm just ranking them straight up, give me OMA, LAF, PIA, SPI. DPA is somewhere in that mix if everyone passes but that's unlikely. I'd avoid Cali at all costs, especially PAO for obvious reasons. (See Matt above)

My class has our final PEs coming up very soon and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to expect, the difficulty compared to regular sims and what usually causes students to fail?
Breathe. Don’t rush. You know exactly what to do, you’ve made it this far. Remember to scan. Get your departures out when you have a gap so you can avoid delays.

I don’t know a lot about the facility specifically, but I did work at the PIA airport for a bit. Joint use airport that has some military C130 activity. Commercial service is pretty light, but American, United, and Allegiant all fly in there. One of the busier Midwest hubs for AAY, actually. UPS had at least had one flight a night, but not sure anymore. Some business GA activity, but with Caterpillar headquarters leaving soon, not sure if that will change. Fairly easy layout to learn.

DM me if you want a little more info.

If you get wrapped up with the traffic in the pattern, take an L for a couple delays. Rather not get dinged off runway incursions or separation errors.

Depending on how many planes are waiting for departure, it could be more points lost that way considering it’s points lost per plane.

If I remember correctly, the delay timer starts and accumulates when you could reasonably launch a plane free of conflicts. I had like 8-10 planes stacked up on the taxiway and I lost 20 points due to delay. Still passed with a 76. I definitely got the safety aspect nailed down.

BFL smells like cow shit.

No idea what the actual facility is like.
Went to the tower for a tour. It doesn’t smell like cow shit. However, they need a new tower and with the radar moving to FAT, they might get one and become a level 5 tower only. The city owns the tower though, so city might build a new one. So maybe 2035?

I was referring to the city as a whole
