Enroute Class pass rate

I keep hearing a rumor that they are going to change enroute training at the Academy so you're actually working the radar and not just being the assist... anyone know if this is actually true?
This is true in addition to non-radar finally getting the ax. Have a coworker who was on some detail overhauling the okc training program. Told me they wanted the change to finally go in effect this fall and that it should. Maybe for the new fiscal year? Who knows. Tower class is getting some changes too.

Dang you never even work fake traffic at the academy?
Well, you kind of do "work" fake traffic, just from the d-side. The r-side at the academy is braindead for whatever reason so it's up to you to tell them to miss traffic and do their job. It's all really stupid.

Non-radar getting the ax until you come to ZAN. Where our non-radar in the lab is pass/fail lmao.

Now I’m curious. Is your non-radar lab like the academy where you’re only working with strips and posting bays? Or is it a radar problem on the scope, but being worked with an inoperative radar?

One, those are two very different things. Providing non-radar separation is way easier when you can actually see a map. Two, reading the technical training order, the only thing gradeable appears to be the three radar evaluations.

Passing average among the last 4 would be 62.5%. That sounds to about check with, or be slightly below the rolling average for EnRoute

The undecided person ended up resigning because they couldn't pick the facility they wanted (wanted ZLC but it was already picked twice). I think that's the first time it has happened for enroute, but it's a little wild to see it trickling up from the terminal side. 😱🤯🤣

It's hard to recruit people with a high-potential to do this job competently whilst telling them they'll have to move somewhere they don't want to live and potentially make less than they can in career fields they are leaving or went to school for.

Or even be able to leave in 5-10 years and get home.
