Hardships

That's great. The hardship request shouldnt even make it past local.

Agreed, but it did. Made it to the service area too, got approved there as well. In fact it made it all the way through. They got to move back to where their grandparents were. A happy ending to a hardship that should have died at the local level.

"in loco parentis" is the term anyone should use if they need to care for their grandparent who is like a "regular" parent to them. It should not be denied if they are truly "in loco parentis". Throw that term around a bit and see what happens.

So I’ve got a parent who is medically disabled due to a work injury. I am potentially looking at a hardship, but was curious what actually was needed in terms of proof of injury/if there’s a cutoff for them to consider it a disability enough to warrant one. Similarly, if it gets denied, can I go submit it again with further evidence of some kind or is it just flat out not gonna happen at that point? I’m just looking at my options before I start shaking the hive at my facility asking about it.

And if I’m reading the article correctly, your hardship can be denied based on your facility’s staffing, so does that go based on the 85% rule from NCEPT or something else? I’ve read the article, but it’s all really vague on considerations beyond a medical need.

YEARS ago I was told hardships should be approved up to 120% staffing. I have not heard an update to have it be based on 85% NCEPT shenanigans.
I hope not. NCEPT is poo and has just trapped people at mid level facilities.

Up to 100% and ive never heard of that 85% crap.

Since NCEPT is not happening for the 4th quarter, and facilities aren't moving people out (or IN potentially/presumably with training backlog).... what if the facility you want/need to hardship to is over 100% because they can't let people go now?
I say want/need because there are 4 facilities in the area that would work but one is a level 12 radar and the rest are low level towers that are full/100%+. The only one that is below 100% is the 12 radar and would prefer to work tower. The towers would normally be a revolving door and right on the cusp of 100%, consistently losing/gaining, but now everything is stopped.

And I had always heard 120%, though 100% makes sense too, where is this written? Something we peons don't have access to?

Are you CPC now (I think a hardship in training is looked at as a failure right)? The good news is the low level towers there should get plenty of washouts from the 12 tracon ?.

Its 100% and up to +3 levels. If no spots exist you can wait it out or go somewhere farther away I would imagine.
