TBD (Q1) 2021

Are you saying that an RPO should not remote for evals?
They are saying she supposedly “knew the evals”

We have several former RPOs where I work and nobody’s ever had an issue with it. I assume the training department, if they really cared, would come up with an alternate eval, but in all honesty the tower eval is a relatively low bar from what I’ve been through.

It's a quote about all facilities regarding ncept 'fixing' staffing problems
Ah figured it would apply to this one in particular, should’ve known there was easier ways to get out of here

nobody gives a shit where you finish in your class...
The only reason anyone cares is probably because the Academy now gives a list of possible facilities and whoever is #1 in class gets to pick first, etc. So your ranking in the class definitely helps determine where you will end up in this job. And if she was good enough to pick the lowest level on purpose with the plan of "check out/get out", then people should definitely be trying to be number1/2/3 and not get the crappy leftovers. Supposing the entire list isn't crap.

By chance does anyone know how long swap paperwork is good for?
Do you actually have someone to swap with? If so, I would assume it's good forever as long as neither party withdraws. Then you just sit and wait on the NCEPT gods to deem it worthy.

Glad it’s not a problem at your facility. Anyone who has a problem with that scenario should be punched in the eggplant. God forbid someone have a leg up, if she sucks she will wash. Big deal. If her family is there it stands to reason she actually want to be there, not like some of these other facility movers just to get out. All the biggest complainers on here wish they had a leg up somehow.

Is there even a point to swaps anymore? As I understand it, a swap is approved if all the same conditions exist that would result in each employee being able to transfer to each others facility even without a swap going on. I.E, if LAX guy applied for SCT and SCT guy applied to LAX, and both transfers were eligible to occur, then a swap would also be allowed, but not otherwise.
Is there a condition where a swap could occur when an NCEPT transfer couldn't?

I should rephrase that. We have plenty of people who wash out of the sim. But nobody took issues with former RPO’s going through the process is all I’m saying. The sim is a challenge, but it pales in comparison to working on position.

I believe she certified at 2 Chicago area towers before going to ORD.
MIC was her only facility prior to ORD. She went to MIC because her SO lived there at the time, not necessarily because it was a quick check out.

She was a RPO at ORD tower, not academy. All the "knew the evals" is bullshit. At academy, she tried to keep it private that her parents were controllers, but her instructor had worked with her dad so that didn't last long.

I guess I can’t communicate well today. At my tower we have 2 CPCs and 2 CPCs in training who were contract ROOs at our tower prior to being hired into the FAA, going to another facility, and then ERRing to our tower. The manager figured he would rank them high because they know the basic phraseology and structure of the airport already. I’d say he was correct as they’ve all proven decent controllers. Nobody took any issue with them going through the same pass/fail sim evals at the tower they had been working RPO for several years earlier.

So the key to ncept is quit your job and get an rpo gig at the tower you want. Do that for a year then apply for reinstatement. Genius!

Just because you're eligible for release doesn't mean the facility you ERRd to will rank you high. Or they may be projected above national average and therefore are not allowed selections. In that case if you're both green after the draft the swap will get approved.

I thought they just canceled the Q4 one and haven’t said anything else.
