New hire placement priority is determined by a facility’s projected.
ZMP for example has gotten a bunch of AGs not because other facilities aren’t accepting them but because they had a lot outbounds and outbounds lower projected.

No way staffed will be “fucked for decades”, or even fucked at all. 2020 showed that. Even with the reduced traffic, places could not have worked 5-5 or 5-10 off if staffing was really that on the edge. It shows that most places staffing number is too high, most places should be releasing people.

Plus after one or two more decades at most ATC will be largely automated, especially at the Z’s and you will only need 1/3 of the people they need now.
