NATCA Seniority Time Error & Past Bidding

No. I said something the moment I arrived and was explained it didn't matter anyway and to get it fixed before I CPCd (which seemed fair enough) but still pursued my documentation. Took me some time to get my original SF50. All in all 7 months to fix it.

I...gladly change my leave bidding to have time with my family. M/T to S/S.

Before I pursue it, I wanted to be informed, approaching it carefully with others in mind. Because after this year it'll be in effect for ever anyway.
Ah well if you are going from MT to SS it does make a difference. I'm not sure what the precedent is but we once had a guy get time as his old contract tower became union. We ended up bidding again and modifying leave. We also had a bunch of losses and new checkouts though

Thanks for input. I'm probly going to just wait it out for the new cycle to avoid being "that guy".

Only say that because if you checked out during the year, most facilities should be defaulting to leaving you on the RDOs you were on as a trainee since that's what you bid all your leave on. You would only change RDOs if an imbalance was created somehow by you checking out and staying those days.
It is not 100 percent they stay on their days. The process of moving to a cpc line is negotiated. Many facilities negotiate that staying on the trainee line as the process, but many also negotiate other ways. Especially at small facilities that are under staffed, they build an ideal fully staffed schedule and then allow cpc to bid. Trainees then fill the remaining available lines as they certify. The entire facility wouldn’t have to re bid because the cpc already had the opportunity it’s to bid. And the trainee would still be afforded their leave that they bid. So a staffing imbalance is not the only way you’d potentially move rdos.

Yeah I said most facilities for a reason. Most just leave the trainees on their days, sure some do something different but most leave them. But either way, I don't see how it changes anything for this guy. If he bid the year as a trainee, 2024 is probably a wash for him.

You also did say should be defaulting as if that’s shouldn’t be a discussion every year based on staffing. And chances are he’s talking about 2025 is my guess.
