There are about 20+ of us that were at the academy and then got put into quarantine because instructors keep testing positive. They just yank the people who were near those insturctors out of the class. Hence some of the classes being really really small.

Can confirm, was pulled due to working with an instructor that later tested positive. Was 2 weeks out from radar evals, now have to restart the entire course after waiting over a month to get put back in the rotation.

Am still being paid and getting per diem, we're back on Zoom. There was some confusion on what was going to happen to us for a while, it was only set it stone recently. We've been told that we have to keep our scores, and that we can't change them despite retaking the entire course. We've basically been told "this is 99% what's happening, we're sure enough to put it on paper now, but there's still a tiny chance of it changing"

I think the combination of the COVID cases that took out a fair bit of the academy along with the inauguration really threw the system for a loop. We're being taken care of, but the weeks before we were told what was going on were pure anxiety.

Neither. I'd wanted to go to Guam since before I started basics and ended up requesting it as soon as we got to the academy. Definitely a huge relief not having to worry about placement, even though our list ended up being pretty solid anyway.

Having Memphis Center TWICE on your list is nice. Great facility in a city where common sense goes a long way.
