Austin Incident

How many washouts did this dimwit have? How many ATSAPS filed? How many were in tower? How many did CruArt show were in tower? How many sups took early shoves? What is the culture at Austin? Was he vaxxed & double boosted? Has he been drug tested yet or naw? Who will be the hero to come forward with the facts!?
It was 630a... nobody was on an early shove.

Haven’t seen the actual clip yet, but absolutely nuts it was allowed to get that close if the one trending on Twitter is accurate.

If FedEx was actually a three mile final, that was never gonna work.
Couldnt agree more. Not seeing the feed or anything, but just based on closure rate listening to transmissions: dude cleared FedEx right after he called at 5.something miles. Seconds later SW calls, and he issues takeoff clearance with the 3 mile traffic call? Bro, no way that was gonna work! ?

covid cpc's, trainees who don't care and NTI's that push them through
The NTI gets them hours, it doesn’t force peopleNot to train or actually document how bad they are, or force OS to also look the other way. Don’t blame COVID blame shitty training. This is Such a fucking cop out justification for a lazy workforce, including managment.

Future OS’s?
He will only become an OS cuz once they put him in a room and say what the fuck were you thinking he will then throw everyone under the bus and they will be forced to promote him to shut him up. And all the other problems including himself will be swept under the rug.
Does no one else realize this?

A big problem is bad documentation. That’s why people like this get lucky and certify. If you’ve got lazy trainers who won’t write something tangible, then there’s no justification to wash people when the training says “light traffic, no issues” on 100 forms out of 101.

It also is tough if you like the person and want to see them succeed, but sometimes it’s worth swallowing the “bummer man” feeling to ensure the flying public is safe.

Exactly. Everyone is a keyboard warrior but when it comes to actually being part of the solution other than raging against management, light traffic no problems is what comes out

Bro the clown show started when the people crossed the pickett line to form a new union.

The people who can't do the job get promoted to a level where they can

The people who can do the job (with a few exceptions) have no desire to 'move up' and be a positive change...they just do the job while getting told why they are doing the job wrong.

Then at the bottom of all this you have trainees...and people think it's their fault?

Light traffic with a few moderate pushes no problems noted. How can you fail a trainee out when that's written 1000 times until the last week they are suddenly behind?

Not many do their job and the ones that do are punished with more trainees, more work, busier combined positions, all for the same pay.

Put on your clown makeup and join the club

Because deficiencies are seen even when you don’t seem them work 100% of the traffic and people don’t want to assign skill training, or work with them out of the operation.

you don’t need to move up to be a positive influence. I think that’s where you and I differ. Shitty managers don’t impact your ability to be a good trainer or a positive influence on your coworkers behavior particularly the trainees by simply doing what is expected of you. And spare me the “it doesn’t pay more to do that” yeah it does when you don’t have to deal with shitheads around you. Bad culture is poison.

I’m glad you brought up the vaccination question, that is a key part of this I imagined would be overlooked.

This is why I’m a big proponent of training when traffic justifies it rather than just training for the sake of showing they got training
I didn't like waiting for that traffic when I was in training, but I get that line of thinking and see how it makes sense. My opinion is the NTI should be lowered or facility-specific, but if you're not working traffic, you should be 100% on your rules, phraseology, and knowledge checks a good OJTI should be giving during slow hours.

Did he do his weather and check his cedar?

Some pretty wild shit is coming out about this dude. Sounds like the WOKE agency's worst nightmare. Fired training teams. Baseless claims. Toxic shit!! I bet the Austin controllers are scared shitless to speak out. There is only one way this story ends w the current insane culture. Thanks NATCA

Facility problem child! Impotent leadership. Red lights everywhere?????

Definitely some truth in what you say, it takes a lot to cure the cancer of bad attitudes and poor performance, no way you can do it solo. Or you could join the dark side
