How bout a trainee washing out because they bitched about wearing a mask. It can go both ways. End of the day a disagreement about mask should NEVER effect how successful or not someone is in training. That is absolutely unacceptable and I would hope the trainer or trainers would be held accountable and the trainee given new trainers
 
I heard this story once... during OJT, a pilot in training kept going out on the runway and abandoning his takeoffs. This was for practice purposes.
During the relief briefing, the trainee controller advised the relieving controller: "and N252JA is practicing abortions on RWY26"

It's not your body though... the disease is highly contagious. Wearing a mask helps keep other people from getting infected if you have the disease. Wearing the mask isn't about your choice to protect yourself or not, it's your choice to protect your coworkers or not.

Almost nobody wears masks in ATC, and no one is going to tomorrow either. It's fake News. If you remove the retirement home deaths the virus is not nearly as scary. Wake me up in November when we can get back to normal and stop ruining lives (including trainees) and abusing the children.

It's not about safety, it's about compliance. Let me know how it goes when you whine about the non maskers Karen
 
It doesn’t really matter anymore. The MOU has been signed.

With that being said, I will agree that it isn’t nearly as fatal as some people would have you believe. I also cannot believe people who think that the ENTIRE world is going to wake up one day in November and say “JK, lol.”
 
So I attempted today to wear a mask. I tried 4 different style of masks and all caused my glasses to fog up. I had to choose either no glasses or no mask. I tried no glasses and that was ok (against my medical though) until I got busy. I was working West feeder into IAD. When I got busy I had to put the glasses on and ditch the mask. What are you guys doing to prevent the glasses from fogging up?

You can put your glasses just barley on the mask and that helps. You can also take a tissue and fold it just inside the top of your mask which will also prevent fogging.

Yeah just balance them barely forward of wear you normally wear them on the nose of the mask

Sounds like safety is being compromised already because of this political MOU, passed many months into the pandemic. Stop wearing the masks and ATSAP. If you are reprised against do whistleblower complaint.

The idea that youd hafta jump through hoops to rig your vision in order to comply with this arbitrary bullshit is absurd. We shouldn't be having to play these games.
