Unfortunately, not applicable. Due to his ATM not updating the SWB, his facility is not eligible. Everyone at his facility that has ERR's will not be included in the manager's ranking list so you cannot tie the grievance to one singular person as you don't know which person would have been selected.

Ah, gotcha. This is something we've talked about at our facility because our old ATM wasn't keeping up with the updates. The only fair thing to do would be to apply the grievance to everyone from the facility that had an ERR in the system, but that would be a nightmare when you reach Cat 1/2 again.

What kind of ATM do you have that wouldnt update the SWB? I couldn't imagine working for some people like that
They are out there. Trust me. Most of them are great people and great to work with. There is always a bad apple somewhere along the line though unfortunately.

Nice guy, but I think it's a lack of knowledge thing. He is adamant that he is never update the number directly. He showed me the program but didn't let play around for obvious reasons and I have no idea how it works from just looking at it.

The whole process of trying to get it rectified since the PPT came out has been rather disappointing, from the union to the agency, and in the end no one will have an opportunity for transfer even though the minimums that were set by both parties are met. And as I said before, we will be ineligible from this point forward for at least 1 year as the program stands.

Your whole situation kind of angers me because the rarity that a facility can release is a pretty big deal and for an ATM to neglect their employees is unacceptable. I'm not sure to what degree you checked the weekly SWB sent out to the NATCA reps to ensure it was correct. Although this is what some people will say you should have done, I don't feel it's your responsibility to supervise the ATM on administrative duties that they should accomplish. If he lacks the knowledge to perform the tasks he is hired to do maybe he should get another job. Imagine a controller saying I can't work IMC days bc I lack the knowledge of where an aircraft must intercept final. It's insane. I would definitely file a grievance bc maybe they will fix what they messed up and honor the numbers at the time that should have been on the SWB. Maybe I'm naive to think that tho

I appreciate the empathy with this, as you can assume quite a few of us are upset. It's really unbelievable that nothing is going to be accomplished.

Myself and the other CPC who put in for A80 also expressed this concern about the few and far between times we will be able to transfer with the NCEPT program. I don't know where the hang up is with FAA or Union on getting this rectified even though the ATM believes he is not able to make these changes in the SWB. Supposedly the Union contacted the district manager but still we have not seen anything come of it. All in all it doesn't appear that there is any urgency to fix from anyone other then those with paperwork in and again every avenue we have taken ends with a 'system is flawed" sort of comment. I've called everyone that I think I can, before I burn any bridges that is, and I guess this is how it will be until the grievances are address. Thanks for letting me vent.

Have you called the two NATCT guys on the NCEPT panel? Did y'all both want A80? I would make sure to mention that is the location bc A80 is dying for bodies maybe that would trigger some corrective action. I wouldn't let it go if I were in that situation

Im at a facility that isnt eligible to release anyone (at least from my understanding), yet my supervisor received a call from one of the facilities I put an ERR in to today. So could I be wrong about not being able to release anyone or did I somehow accidently make a list? Have yall heard of that mistake happening?

Is the facility that called LAX or A80, if not, PM me your current facility.

Remember per RobertB, A80 will not be subject to Cat 1 or Cat 2 releases, you will still make their managers ranking list and have potential to be selected.
EDIT: Only 8's and above will not be subjected to Cat 1 or Cat 2 releases to A80.

I did not talk to the NATCA panel reps. We both did put in for A80 and everyone is well aware but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Yeah but he heard it was going to be level 8 and above soooo...just kick me while I'm down would you? Just kidding, that is why I made such a stink about this magical level 8 cut off, that seems to be the pre-determined success level even though TRACON ops aren't that far apart from ours. I'll stop before I go on another tangent.

He did mention they are given preference, but doesn't restrict lower level facilities. As this new rule came to place after the ERR deadline, this panel is your best shot to get there, who knows, maybe it'll all work out for you in the end.

Yeah I mean we haven't seen anything officially yet so who knows, but it would fantastic if it did.
