Well, the cpc sucked. That’s why. Also why drag out training? Unless there is significant delays a decent cpc should be done in no time.

The people I saw do that (drag it out) were usually the laziest people who everyone later wished they hadn’t been picked up.
 
A cpc who intentionally drags out their training is just lazy/selfish. Instead a motivated cpc should take his/her spot, and save that facility from a useless body. ?‍♂️

Almost all facilities have one/a few though it seems, even lower levels.

Good schedule? Low seniority CPC-IT can sit on weekends off for a bit if they drag it out, before getting Weds/Thurs off when they check out. Also getting leave easier as a trainee.

No argument there, obviously they either suck or are lazy af and just want to make bank while having zero responsibility.

We're all thinking the same thing here. The only way to solve this problem long term is to open the floodgates of academy grads into ZJX. We've seen numerous CPC transfers nope out of here as soon as they see the actual traffic compounded with summer thunderstorm season. Everyone sees a level 11 Z and thinks it's a cakewalk.

Even if they open the academy floodgates, it's still at least 2 years to even see any impact from it to get them through the training
 
I’m going to ZME. Anybody know of some affordable short term housing options? I’m looking for a place to stay for about a month while I look for a good area to move my family to

I don't know any offhand. Prices around here have gotten crazy since I got here 5 years ago.

Do not stay anywhere near the airport in a hotel.

100%. When I thought about transferring there the guy on my tour was like “wait until you have a house to move your family here. Majority of temp housing is over run by drug dealers and constant violence follows.” Guy from my class didn’t move his family there until he checked out and could afford a house. Even with center CPC said it was almost impossible to find a house that is affordable in a nice enough area.

Just get yourself a hotel for a week or two somewhere like Germantown (in Germantown, not just close to Germantown), Olive Branch or close to Lakeland. There’s decent areas around but sometimes they’re right beside bad areas so I wouldn’t want to commit to anything for more than a week or two before you’ve seen the area.
