Free leave during shutdown

Which leave do you take and how will it be free... For those that are low /out on balance and afraid. 😆

Do we request "annual /sick furlow leave"? Thanks
There is no ‘furlough leave’ so you have to request sick or annual leave. You’ll then be placed in furlough status for the day. Since there is no paid leave status during a lapse, annual will be denied.

The new CBA guidance that references you’re now allowed to be in a paid leave status is more of a protection clause in the off chance the powers at be decide NOT to repay people in a furlough status. Then you have the option of converting your furlough status to paid leave annual/sick in order to get paid for the time.

At least…that’s our facility interpretation and guidance.

You snowflakes get so triggered. 🤣. It’s not even hard.

At least you have facility guidance. Ours just linked Santa’s email on it.

Reddit is saying the shutdown is extra goofy for us because we aren’t reauthorized either. Anyone heard about this?

Per the email from Rich Santa:
"As we begin the final week of September, there are two risks of a shutdown for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The first would be a government-wide lapse in appropriations, which funds the government. The second would be a lapse in FAA authorization, which empowers the FAA to carry out its mission. Both expire at midnight on Saturday into Sunday unless this week lawmakers can reach agreements."
