Newly transferred ERR Furlough status

As the title says, I very recently transferred through the ERR process (CPC-IT) and am currently furloughed. Below is a link to the DOT-FAA revised furlough plan:

https://www.transportation.gov/site...471/dot-shut-down-plan-updated-01-14-2019.pdf

I read that the FAA is recalling some of the workforce and the document of course says that life and safety “positions” are excepted from furlough. The document also says that the “Development of new air traffic control specialists not certified to work a position” is suspended.

So what I’m getting at is that my “position” is a CPC-IT ATCS and I’m not a “NEW” ATCS. I do not have FD yet as I was still in the books phase. Do you think there’s an argument that I shouldn’t be furloughed? It would be optimal to get back in there so I can keep the training ball rolling and “guarantee” pay.

Anyone aware of any facility where someone in my shoes was NOT furloughed?

Thanks.

No. With no position certifications, you won't be coming off furlough. If you're still in classroom, even going back in won't accomplish anything since the instructors would be gone (if your facility uses contract instructors.)
I think it's an advantage not going in anyway....still not getting paid until the shutdown ends, so try to enjoy your time off as much as you can.

Well said. Thanks for your thoughts.

I transfer next month. Already prepared if the shutdown is still going on to not even report to my new facility
