Hardships

I’ve applied to 10 supervisor jobs the past two yrs. 1 interview for a facility that is in BFE and they never got back to me so I emailed them with no response. Supervisor bids might be worse than NCEPT lol. The one that interviewed me has another bid out now too like 8 months later from the last. What a joke of a process.
Yeah I don't want to be a sup but would to get somewhere else but hands are tied from staffing

Imagine how terrible of a coworker you must be to not even get a recommendation for a supe job….
I think it comes down to more we are always screwed on staffing so when they call my manager he says yeah we can let you have him in 6 months and of course a place isn’t waiting 6 months when another person can go in 2. All comes down to black hole facility ???‍♂️ Can’t say I’m not a terrible coworker though….

Exact same. Can’t even get a interview because they call manager first and ask when I could be released lol brutal

Imagine having the greatest job in the world and wanting a transfer

Has anyone sought legal advice in hardship denials? Any luck?
I’m wondering the same thing. I have a tight timeline I’m trying to make a move happen in. I have seen what appeared to be very legitimate hardships have to go back and forth from the region for all sorts of reasons before they are finally approved after 6-9 months. I’m wondering if having legal counsel would help before starting the process or if this is 100% a contract issue and a lawyer would do nothing but accept your money.

Honest question, if your timeline is so tight, why not just drop fmla paperwork and take all the leave you need to be where you need to be unquestioned until the hardship is approved? If it’s that legitimate of a hardship, that makes a whole lot of sense doesn’t it?

Long story but I already burned most of my 480 FMLA to take care of my SO after multiple surgeries. I won’t be eligible for another FMLA letter for awhile.

When requesting a hardship due to medical reasons, are medical records submitted or just doctors/medical provider notes?
Everything that will help your case. Just notes aren’t enough from what I’ve seen, but they can certainly elevate your case to get approved. Don’t be afraid to ask your doc and get them to say that you need to transfer.

I too have applied to probably 29 supervisor jobs with nothing. Whole lot of referred, not a single interview. Even the most undesirable facilities and locations such as Billings MT and Hayward CA. it's complete bs, there must be a whole lot of dick sucking going on behind the scenes.

I’m in a similar position. Probably 30 applications. 2 interviews. It really sucks to not be able to progress your career just because staffing is always bad.

Whats crazy is you're entitled by the contract to request from HR how you were ranked, who was selected, and what you can do to better your application, but in my experience they just act like they never got your email or are waiting for some imaginary thing to happen. And you can't get NATCA involved because once anyone finds out you applied to a sup job they'll tell you to fuck yourself.

All supervisor bids have a self created rubric to give points to rank employees who have applied. HR does not do this, the hiring panel does. They can choose to interview none, some or all.

Many managers at that facility let tid bits of info on what’s important to them for that rubric so you can highlight them in your resume or application or questions. Time with qc, work outside the operation, facilities certified in, If you don’t highlight certain things they won’t give you points. If you do zero leg work to figure that out you won’t receive those points if they don’t find it on your application and resume. Think of the people you work with atm and os or Om, do you think these people will notice you are an ojti on your resume unless it smack them in the face? Unlikely.

Do some leg work, answer the questions well. Not all but you’ll start getting more interviews on future bids. If you seem like you are just shotgunning an application in they will spend just as much time on you as you did them. That’s why you guys don’t get interviews.

Natca knows when you bid a supe job. They get a list from the agency. Hence why you can’t be on a article 114 and bids jobs. Just something to know.

I completely agree with this. But what do you want a lvl 4 person to write on their resume that will get them an interview? What compares to something a lvl8 person does. Is it my fault that I’m stuck at a lvl 4 for 5+ years. Instead just cross my name out and don’t give me a chance at a interview to showcase myself ??‍♂️

Did you put in your resume that when you’re CIC all ELMs are accomplished, breaks never exceed 30 minutes and extra on the spot corrections are issued? ?
