Hardships

let me game plan this for you. Controller A certified at facility, say a level 9. Facility got downgraded to an 8. Controller A is still a level 9 CPC on their SF50, so files a hardship and gets a level 12. Idiots look at it and scream bUt tHeY CaMe fRoM A LeVeL 8, wHaT AbOuT MuH CoNtRaCt
They are probably talking about the PIA to GFK which is the exact situation you described lol

Sure, but where does it stop? So because you certified in 2002 when the facility was a 7, even though now its a 5, you can hardship to a level 10? That has been denied in the past multiple times. More than anything, just trying to be helpful. Removing the validity of the actual hardship , if mine was getting denied for that reason, I'd definitely want to know it's been done.

Your SF50 would show GH regardless of it being from 2002. So they would look at it and make sure the hardship was to grade JH or below. Doesn’t matter when you got that or what happened with downgrades after. Unless you’re advocating for them to cut pay after downgrading.

Applied for hardship due to my wife having bad depression and is overly stressed. We are across the country from family and friends, moved during COVID and she is a stay at home mom with very little support. We have 4 little kids. Her father is in end of stage kidney disease (kidney failure). We provided documentation from her doctor, the kids' doctor and her therapist. As well as my FILs doctor. The only thing I got back is she hasn't been depressed long enough? What the hell kind of documentation do they want? Anyone know how long you have to be depressed for it to be "long enough"?

Per FAA standards it will be when you are eligible for retirement.

I’d get a lawyer. Where are they trained to make medical decisions? They move the goalposts

That's major bullshit and not the FAA's call. My advice is to send an email to your region's HR/hardship office saying something like "my lawyer is asking what exact type of documentation you are requesting..." I did this and my hardship was approved 2 days later.

Back from who?

Back from who?
My atm only got news it was denied from regional Chicago committee. He called his uppers and they gave him the normal bs not enough documentation. My natca rep said they told him diagnosis isnt long enough.

This what I was planning. Wasn't sure who to send it to. Thank man. Brothers a lawyer might get him to write something up to go with it

Did you reapply or did the initial one magically get approved?

Depends. Are they saying it's not bona fide or that they just won't honor it?
Idk at this point. I submitted everything my atm said no FacRep said yes was told it went to service area but now 5 weeks later region natca guy says I need more documentation. Says if I don’t supply that then consider it denied.
