Enroute Class pass rate

Was it around 2015 when Obama forced the FAA to move away from merit based hiring criteria in the name of diversity?
13/14. The criteria at the time (correct me if I am wrong) consisted of VRA/OTS/CTO/CTI. That was not discrimination, the discrimination came into play with the Bio-Q and the NBCFAE that gave the answers to only their members.

Curious to what you mean by "merit based"?
💩
Maybe an example would explain it better than I could. United opened their new pilot training academy. Their publicly stated goal is to base hiring, not on ‘merit’, but predominately on students that are women or people of color. Pretty sure most would say who cares about an applicant’s race, gender etc, just hire the best qualified people. Not sure that is what’s happening here

The publicly stated goal is to have half (50%) of their new hires be women or people of color. It's a goal, not a rule. If they can't find that they're not going to stop hiring pilots. They still have to have the requisite time. They still have to pass the requisite training.

Again, what "merit" was the FAA using before the 2014 bid? I get that the Bio-Q was wildly biased. It has rightfully been gotten rid of.

Your theory is flawed.

Here's a concept you won't understand but at least I'll be able to say I tried. This concept is true for any field, and applies to hiring goals based on race as well.

Your theory is the one that is flawed.

United first academy class created for DEI, was 85% in this category. That means that more experienced/qualified pilots were turned away. As a minority myself, I just find this insulting, that I can’t get hired on my own without special quotas inserted. I’m sure you‘ve heard the expression-the soft bigotry of low expectations?
