3rd Quarter 2017

I suppose I'll explain a bit. When I came into the FAA, there was talk of a metaphoric pipeline to get to high level facilities. After I certified and started taking this ERR process I noticed the major flaws with it.

Ironically, I wanted to get to BIL after JNU(my wife's family lives in the area and we just had a little girl). But, I noticed that all the 9s and below were always extremely low on priority so the likelihood of getting picked up didn't exist.

My wife and I talked about it, and determined we would allow for the next ten years at another facility (high level) as a means to an end to get her close to her family (her parents are getting old.)

I didn't want to go management right away, I wanted to be apart of the union, and if I ever decided to go management I wanted experience under my belt to garner a higher amount of respect from the workforce.

Pretty much every facility I ERRd to my wife and I vetted and determined whether or not we would want to be there for the next ten years.

Honestly, I have access to no lists. I just heard a rumor about some guy from JNU. Lol

Haha, to be fair we have two other controllers with at least ten facilities in. Was the rumor "Jnu controller blasted the NAS with ERRs." If so, they weren't lying.

Edit: Feels weird losing anonymity on here, not that it really matters. You all seem like good people. Just feels.... odd.

MSP has 17 to rank this round.

Side note. I am not happy that managers can see the nationwide lists. I have paperwork to about 7 facilities that I would like to work and areas to finish my career. It is grown over the last two years of not being selected anywhere. Started with one and has been expanding as facilities have shown they are not going to hire me. Fast forward two years and I feel that managers will look at that and make the assumption that I am not serious about their facility, and they might be better off ranking someone with only one ERR in above me. Maybe they would feel I'm not dedicated, might turn it down etc. I think facilities should only have access to their own eligible ERR list.

I agree with this. When my manager got a call about me one of the first things the recieveing ATM said was that I had quite a few ERRs in and asked where I was from originally. I don't feel that either of those have any bearing or are applicable to all situations. I have no interest to go back to where I grew up and I have a few options that my family would be happy with

Do you know which facilities are on the msp list?

Lol! I feel the same way but this isn't StuckMic so I feel ok about it. Real controllers discussing real issues.

So I thought most facilities had their selections in by now but DEN just called my facility about a co worker they must be dragging behind.

Do offers go out at any point before the panel concludes? Or do we find out when the list is published? This wait is killing me but I should probably manage my expectations about when to expect news of any kind.

anyone know how long the manager ranking lists were for ORD or MSP?

msp.. good luck. why does everyone want to go up
there? bunch of und kids or what? seems like
msp only pulls from other places within their region anyhow and have a huge hard on for gfk.

You will not hear anything until after the panel meets. In fact reading it on the selected list will probably be the fastest as last panel I texted my buddy who got picked up and he didn't even know yet.

Official offers from HR take up to two weeks to get out after NCEPT meets usually. The list of selected individuals will go up on the site on Wednesday afternoon, or Thursday. I think NATCA had the list of selections up faster last round, so thats where I'll be checking.

Somebody from the receiving facility's regional HR office will call you within a week with a verbal offer, TOL shortly after that as soon as the two ATMs agree on a release date.
