Inability to cope in regard to those subjected to the will of NCEPT
My thing is were 100% staffed and was told that I couldn't be released due to COVID restrictions on training, now coming from the Army anything my manager tells me I take with a grain of salt.

Managers have all the discretion when releasing early. They just can’t hold longer than the agreed time. Sounds like they’re full of shite.

Yeah sounds like you have some management that's just not wanting to give you an earlier date. If you having the staffing to cover your shift then they have full discretion to let you go.

Unfortunately management doesn’t have to justify denying an earlier release date. Since NATCA agreed to the 1 year release for everyone. Which to be honest is better than not leaving at all lol.

Has Anyone been in situation like me, (hope it makes sense) My lease ends in February. Looking to buy a car, but my release date in a new state is August. Anyone just keep their plates/registration until it expires or is that frowned upon? Crazy thought, go to the new state buy the car in February with a PO Box lol? Probably just bite the bullet and pay double for registration

I just changed facilities and just did that exact thing, I’m keeping my plates until they’re up for renewal in April. I’m not paying double registration. Do whatever your risk tolerance allows.

You’ll most likely be fine. Some states have a hard on for it but I’ve known a lot of people who transfer in and out without touching the registration (talking 2-3 years). Mail forwarding for the win!

I think in Texas you have to get it done in either 3 or 6 months and switch over your drivers license

I've been in Nevada for 3 years, just got it done last month. Mail forwarding is the key. Also many states apply previous state registration fees towards the new one, worth a look into.

If you’re gonna wait make sure you find out how the state you’re going to does registration. Sometimes they ask you how long the car has been in the state as a trap then back charge you for all the time it’s been there.

Definitely up to the Managers. Some don’t want to release and some don’t want to take, but they will blame HR or the region. It could also be different depending on the region you’re going to, but “covid restrictions” seems like a BS excuse.

I get it doesn’t make sense to move someone and they be potentially sitting at home, but if you have a situation where it would be better for you to move earlier they definitely could do it. I would be happy with any date because I’m shocked this NCEPT even happened, but my release date is earlier in the year...

They all say that lol. But they can’t really prove it. “I just brought the car down this last week” etc.

I was bitten by this. I didn’t understand what they were asking and told them when I got my license. (Earlier in the convo I said I just moved the car down) but it wasn’t worth the fight for me.

Nevada DMV wouldn’t apply what’s left to the new state and was expensive as hell in comparison. All DMV’s suck but the ones in Clark county are an abomination to the lord. When i moved i rolled the dice and was going to just wait until registration was up. Got a speeding ticket a week prior and a ticket for invalid registration but that was dropped once i did the deed. Every state is different and it sucks but they mostly seem forgiving
