New time off between shifts mandate. Big change

Which now all works together and in the future will barely work together if you go to straight shifts because the other people on your “shift” will have different RDOs. That’s the difference I’m talking about
It’s nothing new. It happens at places all the time currently. Not a big deal

Agreed. My crew now all has the same RDOs and works the same general schedule. With straight shifts half of the "crew" will be on days and half on nights. So your crew is now split in half. You'd be more of a crew with people on the RDOs on either side of you that are on the same rotation of days and nights.

Plenty of people already do that. It’s not a novel idea

So you guys want straight mids is what you’re saying ? Weird, not many people at my facility want that. To each their own

we are just talking about different options man. Most don’t want straight kids forever but once ever month or two isn’t bad. But again we should really be pushing for straight 4 10s way better than this frankstein 6 hour shift

Example number 7 hundred and forty of 32andBelow taking his narrow perspective and extrapolating it to the entire nation. And you don’t all work the mid, you don’t all work the third swing, or 4th swing depending on the bws. Many places you’re all working different shifts cuz you’re getting jerked around all over the place cuz staffing is a train wreck.

Who’s mad? You act like this open progressive and your stupid brain has more blinders on it than the trumptards. If you can’t see passed the 5 feet in front of you stop pretending like you got a clue.

I’m not even causing a fight. I just said the people on your rdos will be more spread out and now you’re getting all Agro

calm the big lebowski GIF

In all seriousness what if you just... didn't have the mid? What's worse for the customers, delays for staffing during the day or getting everyone on the ground and then closing the tower overnight?

That's a much bigger discussion than this MOU of course, and apparently it takes quite a lot of effort to reduce operating hours. But it's something to think about.
And would be an immediate increase in staffing.

We have been doing straight shifts forever and our crews always work together with the exception of a stray day working with another crew for staffing. We have three sets of RDOs instead of seven. That’s probably the only way to pull off keeping your crews together if that’s something your facility cares about and you are forced into working straight shifts

So you have 1 day where 0 people are off?

What are the three sets of days off?
