May (Q2) 2021

Those are all in the order that they appear on the list. I left out the shitty places like zny and d21 and the places that have their own bids like n90 and c90. I90 was #26. I think D10 had more possible gains but was #60ish and I didn't go down that far
It's all subjective. I worked at D21 and it wasn't bad. Cheap housing, covered parking at work so you aren't scraping snow, free vacation parking, lots of lunch choices in the terminal, facility has decent/fun coworkers... upper management just sucks, the training program is slow, and the typical dislike of the surrounding center/tower.

I'd go back if I disliked my current facility, which I don't. But man do I miss the ease of flying out after work... and all the flights to Europe and Asia. #SkyTeam

Yeah don't get me wrong, I'd go there if they ever did a priority bid n90/c90 style. But I'm not going to err there if we ever get a release. I'm sure the facility wouldn't be bad, it's just the stigma of living in Detroit that turns me off. Granted I've only passed thru but from my research, I don't think the motor city qnd surrounding areas are really on the come up.

Cali going through a mass exodus right now ?‍♂️
Wonder how that’s affecting interest in those facilities.
Look at NCT staffing numbers. In the past 4 years, they went from like 143 controllers to 117...
SCT looks decent. L30 as well, but that staffing number should go up!

Any idea of the order they’re picking in?

They're in the order they appear right now. The timeline refers to a May 24th Decision Lens run, and I don't know if the current order (which is from May 5th or earlier I think) reflects the tweaks they did to make lower-staffing-target facilities higher in priority. I know Move78 has commented on this but it still isn't clear to me whether the current priority list is representative of the May 24th list.

Most 10-12 Tracons have suffered a similar trend because they were the most underserved facility type by NCEPT before the shutdown and they were the most negatively effected by the suspension of NCEPT and subsequent slowdown on ERRs since the restart because they don’t get placements from other sources. 1 sentence.

Round 1 draft order will be posted on May 24.
Round 2 draft order will start with the lowest projected staffing and work up from there.

And the most-recent-as-of-now draft order is not representative of the tweaks that will be reflected in the May 24th run?

It's the high cost of living, the traffic and congestion, the politics, the homelessness, and the high taxes for me. Sure, beautiful weather but it's not worth the dealing with all the rest of it.
Sounds like your shot at N90 that you want may not last long if that's stuff you care about ?

Nah bro, I don't want a shot at actual N90. Just N90 traffic. I'll put in for PHL for the shot to work EWR area traffic but yeah I don't want to live on long Island either haha. The west coast and long Island are the 2 places off limits for me.

I think at this point I just have to hope nobody here is trying to get to a higher priority facility than where I’m aimed at.
Keep hearing this mass exodus from natives and everything, I don't know what's normal, but losing .03% of your overcrowded states population doesn't seem to qualify as dramatic as the news headlines state. NCT/SCT have had over filled ncept ranking lists every ncept they are elligable. The staffing issues are elsewhere, they both seem to have no trouble attracting err's.

Yeah some people are into that stuff and the more I think about it, the more I liken SCT and NCT to D21 in that I'm never going to err there on my own but if you told me I could go there next week or stay where I'm at, I'm sucking it up and packing my bags.

Historically SCTs lists of ERR applicants have been much much larger than NCTs

No idea

Do you see the priority list (decision lens) changing much between the one that came out last week and the one on May 24th?
Not a ton no, but I could be dead wrong.

Then again, this is a pretty accurate reaction almost anytime the numbers are ever explained...

Yea if the facility can take people, if the target CPC number is greater than 300, they can only take 6, 200-299 can only take 5, 100-199 can only take 4, 50-99 can only take 3 and less than 50 can only take 2

I thought that referred to how many your current facility can let go?

New information that I don’t believe has been said, website now states “All releases from the May 27th board will be Category 2 release.” Meaning 1 year release dates.

And unless you get a huge wave of certifications you won’t see another ncept until at least next calendar year.
