I really don’t think it changes staffing at all. You’ll likely just be working straight shifts. The coverage won’t change.
They don't get a choiceSenior people won’t go for that.
This is a perfect example of why the 12 hour rule won’t necessarily solve fatigue. One of the big problems with the rattler (at least for me) is the start times constantly pushing earlier to where on the 6-2 I don’t get anywhere close to a full night of sleep the day before. So the extra 4 hours between day shift and mid won’t help, maybe I can get some sleep but it won’t be enough to then work all night.3-11

I didn't say I liked it... Just that's what I see coming. Better than mid-day-eve reverse. Idk I've been straight eves this year, and have a feeling this is gonna kick me off my sweet line.Nice 1 day weekend.
At work every day except Saturday... oh wait, you have overtime on Saturday so you're at work every day of the week. No thanks.Su- x

This is going to remove a lot of extra shifts 24 hour facilities currently utilize like the 1500-2300 shift.
Personally I could see a new mid shift week looking something along the lines of:
1400-2200
1200-2000
0700-1500
This is where it gets tricky… Either a 0200-1000 shift to be in compliance or move all mid shifts to a 0000 start time and do something like a 0400-1200 shift for fourth day.
They’ll just change it7210.3 2-6-7
Cant work an 8 hour day shift that starts before 0530 before an 8 hour mid.
They’ll just change it
If thier goal is to get rid of our schedule, why would they???They’ll just change it
Well they have to change it anyways to put this change inBut until they do
We’ve had this schedule for a long time and it’s great. I don’t think I could ever go back to the rattler. 3 sets of RDOs. The seventh day that isn’t covered is fat and you can use it for a training day, spot leave, etc. We alternate weeks of days and weeks of nights. Each set of RDOs has volunteer straight mid people so we only work mids when they’re on vacation or on OT when they bang. It’s just a healthier schedule than the rattlerIf we did straight rotating shifts does that mean that we’d all have the same couple RDOs basically
That 530 to 800 stretch is rough but other then that, I wouldn't mind this schedule. You’ll either start your workweek on a mid or they’ll try to “negotiate/force” people into some BS type of AWS. The union needs to stand their ground and have a backbone for once against the Agency.
