On January 1, 2024 Offered facilities will not drop off the list. The offered facility list will not shrink on Assignment day if the class size shrinks due to attrition.

Part 2: Volunteer Facility Placements: New Hires after graduation can volunteer themselves to a facility. If approved, students will forego choosing from the list.

List of facilities you can volunteer to:

Unless the pass rate of any given class is 100%, does this not create a scenario where truly undesirable facilities will receive 0 new hires?
Example: 15/18 pass. 3 facilities don’t get picked and move to the next list. Next class 12/18 pass, those same 3 facilities don’t get picked. So on and so forth?

no they slide to the next list and they’ll start putting multiples on the next list. Back in the day it was 2X spot per student on the list and the top 2 were mandatory

Even then. Say there is a facility ranked 10 and 70 on the priority list. If they are passed over class after class, it would take a while for the second slot to catch up assuming their staffing situation doesn’t change. Even with multiples this could still occur, unless there is a high enough pass rate forcing them to be selected.

They’ll prolly just make a couple mandatory again

Another huge win for non bue
Wouldn’t this also help BUE’s at facilities where people end up and then immediately hardship out of ? Or quit?

You’re hoping this new body is your ticket out or extra person for leave slots, and they just waste your time.

It’s also a win for BUE’s and the future BUE’s

Everyone has been bitching about placement, it’s a small step in the right direction

A good step in the right direction. One of the best changes for our career this year and shockingly, NATCA had nothing to do with it.
It literally says “air traffic services and the NATCA bargaining unit”. Did you not take the time to read the post?
