Ha, I tried!Somewhat powerful is a stretch...
Haha, sorry I could not read that sentence with a straight face. True and I agree, they need to leverage the media and the pilots union. A coordinated media campaign is something the Union has been missing for years.Ha, I tried!
But seriously Santa still speaks before Congress and the Senate, media stronghold when they want to utilize it, etc.
We all know it can better but we all know it could be a lot worse.
When you bid your only entitled to your rdos. This is true 99% of the timeAbsolutely not. That is not what I bid and not a schedule I would ever accept. I have zero issue with the rattler and get appropriate sleep for myself.
That would suck. If you Fri/sat like me then go in Fri night get off Saturday morning. And back Saturday night for my first shift of the week.Or double mids starting on your second RDO
0 days when you aren't physically in the facility....That would suck. If you Fri/sat like me then go in Fri night get off Saturday morning. And back Saturday night for my first shift of the week.
This would be the final straw for a lot of people if they actually tried this. You’d see mass resignations at all facilities and the NAS would grind to a halt. For facilities on 6 day work weeks this means first shift back has to be a mid, and that the OT would have to be your first RDO, which means you really have 0 days of the week you're not in the facility. (Given that the last 2hrs of 2nd RDO will be the start of your mid shift). Or start the week with double mids with OT mid on the 2nd RDO. And 1st RDO loses 2hrs to the mid.
Heads gonna roll

If people are still forced to work 6 day work weeks and start the week with a mid, you’ll see people outright quit. Many people.I wonder how many eligible people will just dip. They hate change the most.
Senior people won’t go for that.Depending on staffing levels, but could open up for a 2/3 weeks of days, 2/3 weeks of eves, week of mids type schedule

FTFYThe ONLY acceptable response for NATCA, if they're truly a competent and functional union, to bring to the agency at this point is that this decision will have a ripple effect on many aspects of the job already covered by the CBA, and so the only option is to open the Slate Book for negotiations. Period.
