May (Q3) 2022

Round 1
• Gaining facility must be below 85% current % CPC to target and below the National projected % to target* (ref. column AA of PPT).
• The order of gaining facilities will be based on the most recent decision lens agreement, processed and posted **.
• Gaining facility Trainee to Total Controller ratio target is less than 30%.
• Releasing facility must be at or above 85% current % CPC to target and at or above 85% projected
% to target.
Facility Selection Cap
Selections for a single facility will not exceed the following Controller Resource Workgroup (CRWG) caps during this panel:
Min Max
• Building greater than 300 CRWG Min: 1 Max: 5
• Building 200 – 299 CRWG Min: 1 Max: 4
• Building 100 – 199 CRWG Min: 1 Max: 3
• Building less than 100 CRWG Min: 1 Max: 2
So if I just plug this into the latest PPT I’ll see who can release/gain in round one? I’m on mobile and can’t do it till later. Anyone else already crunch the numbers? Lol

They still keeping the 85% current thing? Have to cover up the fact that the national average has plummeted

What is the logic behind rankings? How the hell does a center manager rank some from a level 5 tower higher than another center controller?
Center controller is a diva and prone to drama and issues? Previous selections from that center struggled in training? Nepotism? The lower level person visited and communicated consistently expressing interest? Or in DEN’s case the LAN guy wasn’t included on a CLT ranking list so he grieved it and a supervisor buddy sustained the grievance on behalf of the whole FAA which forced DEN to select him even though he was ranked dead last by the ATM?

Can’t really know unless you reach out to the FacRep/ATM.

Are there written rules for how this ranking process works? Are picking up places required to call all releasing candidates? Does it have to be your direct sup or does any management work? Any mou on this stuff?

It’s not technically a promotion so there is zero justification needed for any selections. They can literally rank anyone however they want. No calls required to natca or management etc.

Call and email a couple times before the panel. Make sure they know your name and your desire to be there. Otherwise you’re just a name on a list and they could decide they like the name Joe better than Billy cuz they have a son named Joe. Or they could just rank them in alphabetical order.

Doesn’t hurt to have your rep and management on your side too. If you’re well liked and respected you’ll get good referrals when they call to see if you’re a shitbag or not.

Can someone please explain the point of the "possible gains" and "possible loss" category of the PPT if in fact releasing/gaining is based on the "Rounds" as described in reply 60.

In other words, a facility I'm interested in shows 2 "possible gains to target". However they do not meet the bullet point #1 under round 1.

Also, how do you really know where to ERR to if they don't publish numbers/figures AFTER the closing of the ERR submission date. So the last day to submit your paperwork is 4-18. BUT, the numbers they are going to calculate with aren't determined for roughly 10 days later. I mean this process is screwed up as it is but this is just crap. NATCA agreed to this? Maybe we need a Union to save us from the Union. I feel sorry for all those Starbuck and Amazon folk signing up for Unions.

Thanks

Possible gains to target would be the number to bring projected average to 100% (really only applicable for gaining round 2 facilities). Possible gains to national average would be the number to bring the projected average up to NA (~88.9%, applicable to gaining round 1 facilities).
