November (Q1) 2023

Anyone know when they're going to put out the modifications? It's pretty annoying that selections are in 2 weeks and I don't even know if my facility can release.

What are you talking about my guy? Plenty of 8s and 9s have a lot of ERRs on file as many are desirable places where people want to actually spend their careers at. Yours in particular is highly sought after with way more ERRs from releasable facilities than they can actually pick up. For the undesirable 8s, they should send the N90 OTS washouts there. They started doing it recently and instead of sending them to highly sought after Florida facilities, they sent 2 to Y90. Hopefully they continue to send them to Y90, ORF, U90 and JCF instead of places like RSW where plenty of people actually want to go. But once again, there's plenty of people who bid your facility. Them actually getting selected through ncept on the other hand.... that might be a different story.
True. We did get a N90 guy. He is good people.

Do we think NATCA will put out an updated ERR Demand list before the panel?

It is nice knowing your chances and the priority each facility is given all in one document

These are actually very reasonable rules. Glad they've been reading some of my suggestions on here :)

Only downside is now not as many of the 8s and 9s are going to be selecting this panel since many are already staffed up well but it does present a huge opportunity to get to some of the desirable high level places in round 2 assuming no one snipes the release in front of you.

Edit: Also very interesting that there's no mention of caps on the number of selections per facility this time or the 30% controller trainee ratio.

Edit Edit: The November Priority list is also live.

I still feel bad for those level 8-9s that are just below 85% projected. Not going to release, and they only get to pick up one person at most. Have fun getting one person sometime within the next year, maybe you can release after they show up and pass in 2024. All while 7 and below get acad grads.

Well here’s the first question. If you can release in round 1 and round 2 and the gaining facility can pick up in both, do they start with round 1 and once all facilities goes through round 1 then round 2? Or does each facility do round 1 and round 2 then move on to the next facility?

All facilities go through round 1. After that then all facilities go through round 2.

So if there were 5 facilities in the nas it would go like so:
DEN
DFW
ZDC
PCT
ZNY
DEN (round 2 if eligible)
DFW (round 2 if eligible)
ZDC (round 2 if eligible)
PCT (round 2 if eligible)
ZNY (round 2 if eligible)

Thats such bullshit bro. Theres a random projected retirement on our numbers and aint nobody fuckin retiring here so thats keeping us below 85%. Only dude close to retiring here has a year left. Fuck this shit.

Everyone has projected losses and retirements. It's just the way the formula accounts for the unknown. One of your coworkers might quit or have to medically retire tomorrow.

Where are you seeing the priority list? I can’t find it on NATCA or KSN

Question: by our numbers now, we cant release anyone, but if we pick up someone during this panel, would they update our projected number and make us releasable during the panel? We're 9 of 11 right now with a trainee and at least 1 person wants to come here so if they get picked up, would they retroactively come back and put us in Cat 2 or something?

Or better luck next time?

9/11 puts you at 81.8% actual on board. Someone getting picked up at your facility would boost your projected percent-to-target but won't affect the AOB number, and you need AOB to be at-or-above 85%. So better luck next time.

Unless the decisions turn out to be, as it were, dynamic.
