Yes , this will be my 4th facility in 6.5 years. Level 8, Level 11, Level 10, now just hired for another 11.

With the release date will you at least get 2 years at the 10, so you get the raise going back up? I know it’s better to be where you want to be, but, hey, a raise is always good....

I'm not even familiar with that rule, could you tell me where you found it ? I didn't know of any timeline to get the 10-11 raise

Look in pay setting section in the Slate Book. It used to be 3 years from affective transfer date , but they changed it to 2 years. So if possible, you may want to check that transfer date if you can get the 2 years... gets you 8%.

Section 108

CPCs and CPC-ITs who transfer to a lower ATC FPL in accordance with the rules of Section 7(i)(1)(b), and who subsequently transfer to a higher ATC FPL within two (2) years of the effective date of the initial transfer, will have pay set in accordance with the rules of Section 7(i)(1)(a) rather than Section 7(c).

It’s a good contract

Hmm. I'll have to do some digging. That's pretty crazy. No one's ever brought this to my attention and obviously I never knew . I appreciate the insight. Thanks a lot.

Lol, if I get you an 8% raise by you changing your release date slightly to make this work, you owe me a beer.

I just can't believe that's true lol .And I don't want it to be. So I saved pay to come here , and I'd save pay from going to a 10-11? I mean you showed me black and white , I'm just going to plead ignorance and hope my TOL shows a 4% raise .

He's correct, it's the ultimate way to 'game' the current system. Works out really nice in Metro areas that have a 10/11/12 where you don't even have to move.

Ya it's huge money .I guess I'll just have to hope my manager holds me the full year he's allowed to .thanks a lot guys .
It won't be difficult for you, it's completely your choice. Once you sign your TOL, go to your ATM and tell him/her the date you want (whatever gives you the full 2 years at your current facility). Once your date is established and if your facility goes Cat 1. You can turn down the Cat 1 release in the future to preserve your 8% raise. The date has to be "within 12 months" of selection, but all three parties have to agree to it if it is less then the maximum time of 3/3/19 (controller, current ATM, and receiving ATM).
Just bask in the glory of getting to the top of the band much, much sooner.

I got picked up category 2. It says depending on what managers agree on , doesn't say what the controllers wishes are . Ive obviously missed stuff before, hopefully it all works out. Good problem to have I suppose. Thanks again for looking out

A bit late of course but I see posts regarding the Manager ranking list and that it is published. Where is that located? And, is that list from this last NCEPT still available to view?

While the SOP does state...

"3.7.3.In accordance with AHR Operating Procedures, Internal Tentative and Firm Job Offer Process, upon receipt of the verbal acceptance of the tentative offer by the ATCS, AHR will send an email to the gaining and losing ATMs notifying them the offer was accepted and request the ATMs establish the release date in accordance with the National Release Policy."

You are still an active participant. I've yet to ever hear of a story of somebody being forced to leave earlier then they desired within the Category window (All deviation requests to extend past a Cat 1 or Cat 2 window have been denied outright). The ATM's are notified after you accept your TOL. Once you sign it, let your ATM know what date you would like to leave. If your ATM is worth anything, they would coordinate the release date based on your desires (unless they want to hold you longer).

If for some unknown reason that does not happen, after union involvement and pressure coming above, it would be very easy to change the release date based on this section...
K. Once the release date has been established, it may only be changed by mutual agreement of the employee and the losing/gaining Air Traffic Managers, as long as the release date falls within the National Release Policy.

I agree with you. Thanks a lot for looking out and showing the the hard rules... much appreciated again.

Is there a way to know the total number of ERR's, both eligible and ineligible, currently active in the system or at the start of a given panel? I feel like they're doing a terrible job of letting people know how much desire exists within the workforce to move around.
